We are in the process of trying to create an outreach program that would allow up to send locals to relevant seminars and events. The goal is to provide the community with the best available information regarding:
- Current environmental policy as it effects our watershed.
- The science this policy is based off of.
- Opportunities for habitat restoration and water use efficiency.
- Developments in sustainable agriculture and rural community development.
- Developments in sustainable timber harvest and new harvesting policies.
- Anything else relevant to the Deer Creek Watershed!
Our goal is to be able to host landowners, land managers, and youth from within the watershed to the events pertaining to the above that some up in our area. We are still trying to figure out how to keep the insurance folks happy with the under 18 crowd, but are currently looking to take legal adult volunteer to the following events:
- Water Education Symposium, Dec. 9, Corning, CA
- California Rangeland Coalition Seminar, Jan. 7-8, Sacramento, CA.
Please email us or contact either Holly or Amber directly if you or someone you know would be interested in attending.
