The September Board Meeting is scheduled to take place on October 13th....wait a minute, that's not September! Sorry folks, the meeting previously scheduled for Thursday the 22nd of September was pushed back. Please be sure to make this one if you are interested in participating in the grass fed beef marketing program as this is where we will be setting dates and prices and getting a head count!

The 2011 Annual Meeting will take place on June 25th, 2:00 pm at the Abbey of New Clairvaux. Updates will follow, but expect local food, wine and beer in a great setting!!

The California Rangeland Conservation Coalition is announcing its 2011 summit! This is a great event for producers and landowners to attend, and DCWC may be able to sponsor your attendance if you are interested!
The summit will be held Jan. 19th with an optional tour on the 20th in Modesto, CA.

Last Friday the Board met to update DCWC's bylaws. Most of the revisions were allowances to account for a smaller organization.
The annual meeting was also discussed, and is tentatively scheduled for May 1. Any ideas, requests or volunteers would be greatly welcomed!
We are also working on expanding the website, so check back soon for useful links, an online file folder, and to sign up for an online newsletter.

We are in the process of trying to create an outreach program that would allow up to send locals to relevant seminars and events. The goal is to provide the community with the best available information regarding:

• Current environmental policy as it effects our watershed.
• The science this policy is based off of.
• Opportunities for habitat restoration and water use efficiency.
• Developments in sustainable agriculture and rural community development.
• Developments in sustainable timber harvest and new harvesting policies.
• Anything else relevant to the Deer Creek Watershed!

Our goal is to be able to host landowners, land managers, and youth from within the watershed to the events pertaining to the above that some up in our area. We are still trying to figure out how to keep the insurance folks happy with the under 18 crowd, but are currently looking to take legal adult volunteer to the following events:

• Water Education Symposium, Dec. 9, Corning, CA
• California Rangeland Coalition Seminar, Jan. 7-8, Sacramento, CA.
